Kramer to swim at Lycoming College

By: Ed Weaver  /  June 5, 2015

Senior Emilie Kramer officially announced that she will continue her swimming career next year at Lycoming College on Thursday, June 4.

"I wasn't looking on picking my school based on a sport but I loved Lycoming when I went to visit and their staff was my favorite of all the ones I met and that really helped in my deciding factor," Kramer said.

Kramer, who was named the 2014-15 Female Athlete of the Year on Monday, has been a member of the Northern Tier Aquatics team that Wellsboro swims with for the past four years. During that time Emilie finished 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke (1:12.32) at the District IV Championships as a junior and was sixth as a senior (1:12.55). Kramer was also a three-time first place finisher in the 100 Breaststroke at the NTL Championships and was named to the 2015 All-Region team in both the 100 Breaststroke and 200 IM by the Towanda Daily Review.

Now that her journey at Wellsboro is over, Kramer is looking forward to continuing her career at the next level.

"It's been crazy, there have been some ups and downs and winning Female Athlete of the Year was a great honor and I never expected it and to continue my career in college is great," Kramer continued. "There's six of us going now to college to play sports and any way to further your career in college is a great accomplishment and great honor."

WellsboroAthletics.com would like to congratulate Emilie on swimming at Lycoming College, and wish her the best of luck during her collegiate career.
