Hornet golfers 5th at River Valley

The Wellsboro Golf Team started the 2015 season with a combined score of 387 for a fifth place finish at River Valley.

Athens won the match with a score of 333, Towanda was second at 358, Northern Tioga was third (359), Northeast Bradford came home fourth (386), Sayre was sixth (402), and Mansfield was seventh with a score of 408.

Senior Ryan Reese led the Hornets on the afternoon with a score of 91. Freshman Ben Barnett shot 94, senior Stone Alexander finished with 99, sophomore Aidan Moore came home at 103, freshman Brandyn Tuttle shot 104 in his first career match, and sophomore Kyle Reese rounded out the scoring with a 106.

The Hornets start the season at 2-4 (2-4 NTL). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, September 8 as they tee off at Corey Creek Country Club.
