The Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team pushed their win streak to eight games with a 6-2 win over Towanda on Monday, May 4.
After a 1-1 tie heading into the sixth inning, the Hornets scored a run to take a 2-1 lead, but the Black Knights would tie the game up in the bottom of the inning.
The Hornets would break the game open in the seventh inning as Freshman Caleb Tennis reached base on error followed by a single from fellow Freshman Johnny Rowland. Freshman Dalton Prough would draw a walk to load the bases before older brother Junior Dawson Prough singled to score Tennis. Senior Brett Kendrick then reached base on an error which emptied the bases giving the Hornets the 6-2 win.
