The Wellsboro Girls Track team took home the top spot in the Coudersport Invite on Friday, May 1.
The team scored 128 points, and broke a record in the process. The 4x100m relay team of Senior Lauren Bleggi and Juniors Lindsey Graver, Jada Jackson, and Raisa Rogers broke their own record set in 2014 (51.52) with a new time of 49.3, which is also a new Wellsboro school record in the event.
Lauren Bleggi (13.15) and Jackson (13.22) were 2nd and 3rd in the 100m, Lauren Bleggi (27.15) was 2nd in the 200m with Graver (28.21) in 5th, Junior Camryn Keane (2:37.14) was 5th in the 800m, Freshman Anna Bleggi won the 1600m (5:47.44) and the 3200m (12:47.02). Sophomore Janessa Davis (13:31.85) finished behind Anna Bleggi in the 3200m.
Junior Haley Zuchowski was 3rd in the 100m hurdles (17.53) and was 2nd in the 300m hurdles (49.63). The 4x400m team of Seniors Caitlynn Butler and Annie Sweeney, Rogers, and Junior Hannah Guindon was 4th at 4:32.75, and the 4x800m team of Davis, Keane, Sweeney, and Butler won with a time of 11:03.87.
Rogers (5 ft) was 3rd in the high jump, Junior Joey Taft (7 ft) was 5th in the pole vault with Sophomore Melody Benner (6 ft) and Freshman Kaitlyne Kramer (6 ft) tied for 8th. Jackson (16 ft 5 in) won the long jump and Graver (15 ft 6 in) was 4th, Jackson (36 ft 4 in) won the triple jump and set a new meet record in the event and Graver (32 ft 2.5 in) was 4th.
Senior Meghan Bodine (23 ft 5.25 in) and Sophomore Samantha Spurgeon (21 ft 6.5 in) were 20th and 21st in the shot put, Bodine (78 ft 2.5 in) was 12th in the discus and Sophomore Hannah Lawton (75 ft 0.5 in) was 14th, and Spurgeon (79 ft 6 in) was 6th in the javelin.
The girls will travel to North Penn for a tri-meet with the Panthers and Williamson later today for their final regular season meet.
