Senior Dylan Prough continued his dominant play as he scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, had eight steals and six assists to help the Wellsboro Varsity boys basketball team to a 70-46 victory over Northeast Bradford.
The Hornets trailed 13-11 after the first quarter but then turned up the heat in the second as they outscored NEB 28-7. The Hornets were in control from then on as they claimed the win.
Junior Michael Pietropola added 15 points and nine rebounds on the night, Sophomore Dawson Prough had 13 points, Senior Joey Doganiero netted 11, Junior Kieron Smethers had eight points and eight rebounds, and Junior Jake Mitchell scored four points.
In the J.V. game, the Hornets finished their season with a 35-34 win on a last second three-pointer by Freshman Brandon Lamphier. The team finished the season with a 5-17 record.
With the Varsity win, the team improves to 17-5 (8-2 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Thursday, February 13 as they travel to Mansfield to take on the Route 6 rivals in the opening round of the NTL Showdown at 7:00 p.m.
