Middle School girls roll over North Penn, 35-4

The Wellsboro Middle School girls basketball team pushed their win streak to eight games as they defeated North Penn 35-4 Thursday night.

The Lady Hornets held a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, then had a sloppy second quarter in which they got outscored 4-2. The girls turned up the defensive pressure in the third quarter and had a 15-0 run, and then an 8-0 run to end the game.

Sydney Tremper led all scorers with 10 points and 5 steals. Lizzie Poirier, Emma Poirier, and Brianne Keane had 6 points each.  Rachael Tuttle added 5 points and 7 rebounds and Alyssa Yungwirth added 2 points.

With the win, the team improves to 14-3. The girls will be back in action on Tuesday, March 25 as they travel to Williamson.
