Following an overtime loss the night before, the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team picked up a 57-43 win over Coudersport on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Hornets got out to an early 15-6 first quarter lead and mainted that for the remainder of the game. Wellsboro held a 29-18 advantage at halftime and and we up 47-34 after the third quarter.
Juniors Sarah Ingerick and Jada Jackson each scored in double figures with Ingerick leading the team with 19 and Jackson finishing with 18 and nine rebounds. Senior Jordan Butters and Junior Raisa Rogers each had six points, and Junior Alexa Singer and Freshman Rachael Tuttle each had four.
Tuttle finished with 10 rebounds on the afternoon, Butters grabbed eight, and Singer and Ingerick each grabbed six.
In the JV game, the Lady Hornets won 54-21 behind 12 points from Sophomore Jessica Grab to improve to 4-2.
With the win, the Varsity team improves to 4-2 (0-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Saturday, December 27 as they participate in the Mansfield University Holiday Tournament.
