The Wellsboro Varsity girls basketball team continued their skid, now at four games, as they fell to Troy, 43-32 Friday night.
The Lady Hornets held a 30-29 advantage entering the fourth quarter until Troy's Faith Ceely scored 14 of her 23 points in the final frame to push Troy past Wellsboro for the NTL Division 1 win.
Sophomore Jada Jackson had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Sarah Ingerick had 9 points, Junior Peyton Wilson had five and Junior Jordan Butters, Sophomore Jenny Young, and Sophomore Alexa Singer had two points each in the loss.
In the J.V. game, the Lady Hornets won 39-13 to improve to 7-5 on the year. Freshman Jessica Grab scored 13 points to lead the team.
With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 6-9 (1-2 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, January 21 as they host Wyalusing.
