The Wellsboro Varsity girls basketball team got a career-high 27 points from Sophomore Sarah Ingerick as they cruised past Williamson, 74-26 Thursday night.
The Lady Hornets opened the game by scoring 20 points to Williamson's two in the first quarter and never looked back. They outscored the Lady Warriors 17-6 in the second, 21-14 in the third, and 16-4 to earn the NTL Division 1 win.
Despite Ingerick being the only Hornet in double figures, eight Lady Hornets scored on the night.
Juniors Jordan Butters and Peyton Wilson each had 9 points, Sophomore Jada Jackson had 8 points and 11 rebounds, Sophomores Alexa Singer and Raisa Rogers and Senior Brooke Kohler had 5 points each, Sophomore Jenny Young had 4, and Junior Lauren Bleggi had 2.
In the J.V. game, Wellsboro won 31-16. Freshman Jessica Grab led all scorers with 10 as they picked up their 9th win over the season.
With the Varsity win, the team improves to 8-9 (3-2 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, January 28 as they travel to Towanda.
