The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team picked up a 3-1 NTL Division 1 win over Towanda on Saturday, September 27.
The Lady Hornets won 25-17, 25-18, 26-28, and 25-15 to claim the victory. Senior Peyton Wilson led the team with 16 points, 2 aces, 18 assists, and 14 digs. Sophomore Kirsten Florio had 15 kills and 7 points, Junior Darci Warriner had 10 points, 5 kills, and 16 digs, and Senior Paige Carr had 35 digs.
Senior Danielle Mihalik recorded 8 kills, Junior Mikayla Feil notched 10 kills, and Sophomore Morgan Florio had 20 assists in the win.
In the JV game, Wellsboro won 2-0 (25-21, 25-10) to improve to 8-1. Sophomore Kaeli Butters led the team with 14 points, Freshman Jillian Graver had 7 kills, Sophomore Olivia Kurtz added 7 assists, and Freshman Sydney Tremper pitched in with 11 digs.
In the Middle School game earlier in the day, the Hornets defeated Northeast Bradford 25-8 and 25-17 to improve to 6-1.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 7-2 (2-2 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Monday, September 29 as they host Coudersport.
