The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team picked up an NTL Division 1 victory as they rallied to beat Liberty 3-2 on Thursday, October 16.
Wellsboro won the first set 25-20 and Liberty won the second 27-25. Wellsboro would win the third 27-25 before Liberty tied it up in the fourth with a 26-24 win. Wellsboro won the match with a 15-12 victory in the fourth set.
Senior Peyton Wilson led the team with 14 points, 13 assists, and 12 digs. Junior Darci Warriner scored 11 points, 5 kills, and 24 digs, Junior Haley Zuchowski had 12 points and 14 digs, and Sophomore Kirsten Florio had 6 kills.
Senior Paige Carr recorded 17 digs, Senior Danielle Mihalik had 8 kills, and Sophomore Morgan Florio had 9 points, 6 kills, 14 assists, and 6 digs.
In the JV game, the Lady Hornets won 2-0 (25-21 & 25-20) to improve to 15-2.
With the win, the Varsity team improves to 11-5 (5-5 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Monday, October 20 as they host Cowanesque in the final regular season game.
