The Wellsboro Varsity track teams traveled to Towanda on Tuesday, April 8 with the girls coming home with the win.
The Lady Hornets outscored Towanda, 120-31 for their third win of the year. Wellsboro won the 4x800m relay in 12:12.17, the 4x100m relay in 55.6, and the 4x400m relay in 4:37.06. The Lady Hornets swept the 100m hurdles with Junior Elise Becker (18.1), Sophomore Haley Zuchowski (18.14), and Sophomore Emma Eccher (18.51) took home first through third.
Sophomore Jada Jackson won the 100m run in 13.18, Sophomore Lindsey Graver won the 200m run (28.27), and Jackson (1:03.5) and Junior Caitlynn Butler (1:08.7) finished first and second in the 400m run. Sophomore Camryn Keane took home first in the 1600m at 6:17.7 and also won the 3200m run in 14:03.9.
Graver won the long jump at 14' 0.5", Jackson won the triple jump at 33' 6.5", and Sophomores Mikayla Feil and Raisa Rogers tied for the win in the high jump at 4' 11".
Senior Alex Kurtz won the shot put with a throw of 30', Senior Katie Straniere won the discus at 74' 7", and Kurtz also won the javelin at 64' 10".
The boys team lost to Towanda 83-67, their first on the year. Wellsboro took home first in the 4x800m realy in 10:03.63 and Senior Dan Brooks won the 100m in 11.53.
Senior Dylan Prough and Sophomore Rich Tardieu tied for first in the high jump with a jump of 5' 8" and Prough won the long jump at 19' 2".
Senior Joey Doganiero won the 400m run in 52.92, Junior Nick Marple won the javelin at 133' 5", and the Hornets won the 4x100m realy in 48.19.
The girls improve to 3-0 (3-0 NTL), while the boys fall to 2-1 (2-1 NTL). Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, April 12 as they participate in the Molly Dry Invite at Mansfield University.
