The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team picked up their first win of 2014 as they defeated Wyalusing 4-1 on Tuesday, September 2.
The Lady Hornets got on board in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the half before they exploded for three second half goals to seal the victory. Junior Sarah Ingerick scored two goals on the night and Juniors Brynn Ripley and Joey Taft each added a goal each. Junior Lindsey Graver recorded two assists and Ripley also added in one.
Freshman Kailee Clymer recorded 11 saves in goal for the Hornets as the girls out shot the Lady Rams 21-10.
In the JV game, Wellsboro won 3-0 to improve to 1-1 on the year.
With the win, Wellsboro improves to 1-1 (1-0 NTL). The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 4 as they travel to Athens.
