Boys swim team 5th, Girls 4th at NTL Meet

The Wellsboro Varsity swim team traveled to Sayre Monday night to compete at the NTL Meet.

The boys took home 5th place with 74 points, while the girls finished 4th with 142. Between both teams, Wellsboro came home with 5 League champions.

For the boys, Freshman Nathan Cotner took home 1st place in the 200 Freestyle at 1:53.15 and 2nd in the 100 Freestyle at 51.20. Senior Blair Carson was 2nd in the 50 Freestyle in 23.86 and 1st in the 100 Breaststroke at 1:05.29.

For the girls, Junior Emilie Kramer was 2nd in the 200 IM in 2:25.57 and 1st in the 100 Breaststroke at 1:16.03. Sophomore Mikayla Feil was 2nd in the 50 Freestyle (26.74) and the 100 Freestyle (58.30), Freshman Olivia Kurtz was 1st in the 50 Freestyle (26.07) and 100 Freestyle (57.57), and Senior Alex Kurtz was 4th in the 50 Freestyle (28.74) and 3rd in the 100 Backstroke (1:11.0).

The team will be back in action on February 25-26 as they compete in the PIAA District IV Championships.
