Volleyball team downs Canton, 3-0

The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team picked up their second win of the season with a 3-0 shutout of Canton Thursday night in Wellsboro.

The Lady Hornets won 25-9, 25-21, and 25-23.

Junior Danielle Mihalik recorded 10 kills and 10 digs on the night, while Senior Katie Straniere added 19 digs. Junior Peyton Wilson had 11 points, Junior Jordan Butters added 8 points, and Wilson and Senior Alex Kurtz each had 10 assists.

In JV action, the Lady Hornets won 2-0 (25-9 and 25-8) to improve to 2-0 on the year.

With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 2-0. The team will be back in action on Tuesday, September 10 as they host Northeast Bradford.
