Varsity volleyball tops CV, 3-1

The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team continued their undfeated season with a 3-1 non-league victory against Cowanesque Thursday night.

After dropping the first game 21-25, the Lady Hornets bounced back to dominate the Indians 25-8, 25-9, and 25-13 to claim the victory.

Senior Kaelyn Keane had 12 kills, 4 blocks, 12 digs, and 9 points, Junior Peyton Wilson had 12 points, 11 digs, and 4 assists, Senior Alex Kurtz had 12 assists and Junior Jordan Butters had 17 points on the night.

In the J.V. game, the Lady Hornets lost their first game of the year, 1-2 (25-12, 16-25, 14-16).

With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 4-0 on the season. The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 14 as they travel to Troy.
