The Wellsboro Middle School soccer team picked up their fourth win in a row with a 3-2 victory over Northern Potter Monday.
The team started Monday's game controlling the ball for most of the half. The Hornets had five shots on goal before Northern Potter could challenge the Hornets' defense. Despite maintaining possession for most of the half the Hornets found themselves down 1-0 heading into halftime. Wellsboro struggled with Northern Potter's counter attack all game.
Northern Potter found the back of the net once more midway through the second half.
The Hornets did not give up and continued to challenge the Northern Potter goalie. Tanner Runyan scored from 20 yards out placing the ball over the Northern Potter goalie. Tanner duplicated his feat minutes later tying the game 2-2. The Hornets were given a corner kick opportunity with two minutes remaining in the contest. Noah Fitch scored off a Nic Ingerick assist.
With the win, the team improves to 4-2. The team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 25 as they host Athens.
