M.S. soccer tops Northern Potter in final game

The Wellsboro Middle School soccer team finished the 2013 season on a high note with a 4-1 victory over Northern Potter Thursday night. The win was also the team's third in a row.

The team started Thursday's game putting constant pressure on Northern Potter's defensive. The Hornets recorded four shots on goal before Emma Poirier scored off a Tanner Runyan assist. Minutes later Noah Fitch dribbled past the defense and found the back of the net putting the Hornets up 2-0 going into halftime.

Northern Potter struggled throughout the game, however the Panthers finally scored midway through the first half to prevent the shutout. 

Wellsboro ended up scoring three times in the second half. Brett Ruddy scored off a Gabe Leach assist.Rudy went on to return the favor as Gabe Leach scored a perfectly placed shot to put the Hornets up 4-1. Christopher Richardson connected with Brett Rudy for the final goal of the game.

The win gives the team a record of 8-3-1.
