Lady Hornet volleyball falls to Troy

The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team lost their first match of the year, falling to Troy 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-21).

Senior Kaelyn Keane and Junior Danielle Mihalik had six points, Senior Maggie Smith had five points and five kills, Junior Peyton Wilson had three points and seven assists, Senior Alex Kurtz had two points, Junior Jordan Butters had one while Senior Katie Straniere had 14 digs.

In the J.V. match Wellsboro won 2-1, taking the first game 25-15, losing the second 22-25 and winning the third 15-10.

With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 4-1 (0-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, September 17 as they travel to Towanda.
