The Wellsboro Varsity girls soccer team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 overtime victory over Northeast Bradford on Wednesday night.
The Lady Hornets got on the board first in the 17th minute when Sophomore Sarah Ingerick found the back of the net. Northeast Bradford would rally to tie the game in the second half at 1-1 to force overtime.
Overtime games have not been friendly to Wellsboro this season, but the Lady Hornets found a way to win. In the 84th minute, Junior Lauren Bleggi scored to give the Lady Hornets a victory.
Junior Meghan Bodine recorded 4 saves in goal for the Lady Hornets.
In the J.V. game, Wellsboro won 4-0.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 5-8-1 (4-7-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Monday, October 7 as they host Wyalusing.
