Hornets cruise past Cowanesque

Three Hornets were in double figures as Wellsboro topped Cowanesque 69-25 on the road Friday night.

Sophomore Micheal Pietropola led the team with 19 points, Junior Joey Doganiero netted 16 points, and Junior Dylan Prough pitched in 10 points.

Rounding out the scoring for Wellsboro was Senior Jordan Jackson with 8 points, Senior Matt Reese and Freshamn Dawson Prough had five each, Sophomore Nick Marple added four, and Sophomore Kieron Smethers chipped in with two.

In the JV game, Wellsboro won 36-25 on the back of Dawson Prough's 15 points. With the win, the JV team improves to 12-5.

With the win by the Varsity squad, the Hornets improve to 18-1 (8-0 NTL West). The JV team is back in action on Monday when they travel to Galeton, and the full team will be back on Friday, February 8 as they travel to Williamson.
