Hornet Volleyball tops Sayre, 3-0

The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team picked up a non-league win over Sayre Tuesday night to start regular season play. The Hornets topped Sayre in 3 games winning 25-12, 25-11, and 25-11.

Junior Danielle Mihalik had five kills and 13 digs for the Hornets while Junior Jordan Butters had five kills. Junior Peyton Wilson added 11 assists, nine points and four aces, Senior Alex Kurtz had five assists, six points and three aces while Senior Kaelyn Keane had three blocks.

In the JV game, the Lady Hornets defeated Sayre 25-15 and 25-12.

With the win, the Lady Hornets move to 1-0 on the year. The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 5 as they host Canton.
