Senior Bobby Hill will continue his running career by joining the track and cross country programs at Penn State University in the fall.
Hill, who competed in three state events this year (cross country, track, and swimming), is looking forward to joining Penn State.
"I'm extremely thrilled to run at Penn State," Hill said. "There were other schools looking at me, but I've always wanted to go to Penn State. It's been a dream of mine since I was young."
Hill qualified for the PIAA State Meet in cross country and finished 52nd overall in 17:37, and ran a personal best 16:44 at the NTL Coaches Meet.
In track, Hill finished 7th overall in the PIAA State Meet running 4:35.64. Hill ran his best time of the year, a 4:19.34, at the WCH New Balance Invite.
"I am really excited for Bobby to continue his running campaign at the college level. I have no doubt he has the talent to be successful and I feel that this season was just of snap shot of what Bobby is capable of with the right training down the road," said first year track head coach Dave Sanford. "Bobby was one of the most coach-able kids I have worked with. He never shirked his workouts and he always put forth his best effort. I am extremely happy for him because it is a testament to hard work. If you put in the time and the effort, you will reap what you have sown."
WellsboroAthletics.com would like to congratulate Bobby on continuing his running career, and wishes him the best of luck in the future.
