The Wellsboro Varsity girls soccer team is starting to turn the corner as they team beat Towanda 4-0 Saturday.
The win was the second in a row for the girls, and their second consecutive shut out.
The Lady Hornets got on the scoreboard first at 6:28 in the first half as Junior Lauren Bleggi scored to put Wellsboro up 1-0. This would turn out to be the only goal the Lady Hornets would need, but the team added three more insurance goals.
Sophomore Sarah Ingerick scored in the 19th minute to put the team up 2-0. Sophomore Lindsey Graver scored in the 76th minute to go up 3-0, and Junior Jena Reimann scored in the 78th minute to close out the game.
Junior Meghan Bodine recorded 7 saves in goal for the Lady Hornets and recorded her third shut out of the season.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 3-5-1 (2-4-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Monday, September 23 as they travel to Mansfield.
