The Wellsboro Varsity boys soccer team won their 5th consecutive game in front of the home crowd against Williamson, 4-0 on Saturday.
Senior Erik Stemcosky had a career day, as he scored a hat trick and added another goal to score all of Wellsboro's four goals on the day. Stemcosky's first goal came at 19:28 off an assist from Sophomore Tucker Worthington, followed by goals off assists from Senior Aaron Dillman.
Stemcosky's final goal came in the 65th minute to finish the day.
"The boys had their best game of the season today," said head coach John Shaffer. "The dominance they displayed in terms of possessing the ball and confidence in passing it around was awesome to watch. Erik was brilliant inside Williamson's 18 and the defense earned their sixth shutout of the year."
Junior Jake Mitchell made four saves in net for the Hornets to help the team improve to 13-3 (13-3 NTL). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 15 as they travel to Northern Potter.
