The Wellsboro boys soccer team picked up a league win Tuesday night with a win over Northeast Bradford.
The Hornets jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half with goals from Junior Gillan Alafoginis on a penalty kick, Sophomore Quinten Curneir, and Senior Dan Brooks.
Northeast Bradford battled back and scored two quick goals in the second half, but the Hornets regrouped and and controlled the final 30 minutes to earn the victory.
"I was very happy with the passing of the boys," said head coach John Shaffer. "We created many great chances and with better finishes the score would have been much wider. I was also happy with the resiliency of the boys."
Alafoginis and Curneir also recorded assists on the night, while Junior Jake Mitchell saved 4 shots in goal.
With the win, the Hornets improve to 4-2 (3-2 NTL). The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 19 as they host Sayre.
