The Wellsboro Middle School girls basketball team dropped their third game of the season as they lost to Liberty last night, 39-28. After being tied 19-19 at halftime, Liberty held the Hornets scoreless during the third quarter while they scored 11 points, that would ultimatley decide the game.
"It was a disappointing loss, but I still like the resolve of our team," said head coach Darrell Morris. "They never gave up, we just didn't have it tonight after two big games earlier in the week."
Alexis Singer led the Hornets in scoring with 9 points.
In the B-Team game, Wellsboro won 18-8.
The Hornets wrap up the regualr season on Tuesday, April 3, as they travel to Mansfield to take on the Tigers. With a win Wellsboro would be tied with Mansfield for the #1 seed heading into the inaugural NTL Middle School Championship Tournament.
