Senior Sarah Kramer recorded a hat trick and 15th goal of the season as the girls soccer team shut out Towanda, 6-0.
Kramer started the scoring in the 23rd minute as she received a pass from Sophomore Jena Reimann and finished with a shot on the left side of the goal. The Hornets would score twice more in the first half to take a 3-0 lead on the Black Knights into halftime.
The second of Wellsboro's 3 first half goals came in the 13th minute as Sophomore Lauren Bleggi found Sarah Ingerick for a goal. The third Hornet goal came in the 11th minute as Junior Brooke Kohler carried the ball throughout the defense from the midfield position and found herself with only the keeper between her and the goal.
In the second half, Senior Kimberly Acorn scored off an assist from Kramer in the 37th minute to put the Hornets up 4-0 on Towanda. The Hornets final two goals were both by Kramer to finish off her hat trick.
Sophomore Goalie Meghan Bodine recorded her third shut out victory of the season as she stopped 8 Towanda shots.
"This was a wonderful game to end our regulation season. Every single player had the confidence to carry the ball when possible and created smart passes," said head coach Carolyn Mitchell. "The many aspects of soccer we've focused on this season really came together.
"I'm proud of Sarah and her teammates to make that personal goal for many soccer players possible. There is nothing better than seeing a team truly support each other the way the Lady Hornets did tonight."
With the win, the Hornets finish the regular season at 7-8-1.
