The Hornets boys basketball team improved their record to 6-0 by posting a 58-30 victory over the previously undefeated Williamson Warriors Tuesday night in Wellsboro. The Hornets' pressure defense was more than the Warriors could handle as they forced 18 turnovers and held the Warriors leading scorers to 11 points. The Hornets defense also held the Warriors to just 13 points for the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Leading the way for the Hornets were Junior Jordan Jackson's 19 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals and Sophomore Dylan Prough with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
In JV action, the Hornets lost to Williamson, 36-35, in overtime. Freshman Michael Pietropola and Kieron Smethers led the team in scoring with 12 points each. The boys team will be back in action Thursday night, January 5, as they travel to Galeton to take on the Tigers.
