Hornets down Sayre

The Green Hornets outscored Sayre 22-5 in the first quarter on their way to a victory on Thursday. Jordan Jackson led Wellsboro with 23 points, four rebounds, four steals and four assists and Matt Reese and Dylan Prough each finished with 12 points, while Joey Doganiero had 11 points in the win. Reese added six rebounds for Wellsboro, while Sam Mitchell chipped in with two points in the win.

With the win, Wellsboro improves their 2011-12 record to 13-1 (6-0 NTL West).

In JV action, the Hornets lost a close contest to Sayre by the final of 39-37. The team will be back in action Monday, January 30, as they travel to Towanda.
