The Wellsboro boys and girls track team competed in the 14th annual Blad Eagle Invitational at Lock Haven University yesterday afternoon. The girls finished in 7th place with 45 team points, while the boys finished 16th with 9 team points.
In the 100m dash, Senior Taylor Acorn and Mikayla Palmer-Bacon finshed 3rd and 5th with times of 12.97 and 13.19, respectively. Acorn followed her up performance as she took the top spot in the 200m dash with a time of 26.42 seconds. In the 400m run, Senior Raina Rogers finished first with a time of 59.64. In the 100m hurdles, Junior Mackenzie Marple finished 6th with a time of 17.23.
The girls 4x100m team of Rogers, Acorn, Palmer-Bacon, and Sarah Kramer finished in 4th place with a time of 51.91 and took home second place in the 4x400m run with a time of 4:09.38.
Junior Jordan Jackson placed second in the 800m run with a time of 2:00.36 and followed up that performance with another second place finish in the mile run with a time of 4:31.57. In the 3200m run, Senior Bob Owlett finished in 6th spot with a time of 9:49.89.
The teams will be back in action on Tuesday, April 24, as they host the Troy Trojans.
