The Wellsboro Boys Basketball team defeated Galeton 44-30 last Thursday to push their 2011-12 record to 7-0 (3-0 NTL West). The Hornets were outscored for the first quarter 11-10 as a result of the Tigers' defense and the Hornets' poor shooting.
The Hornets bounced back and were able to take a 25-18 lead into half time as they scored 15 points led by Jordan Jackson and Dylan Prough’s 6 and 4 points respectively. The third quarter was evenly matched as both teams scored 8 points. The Hornets were able secure the win as they outscored the Tigers by 7 points in the fourth quarter led by Billy Sell’s 4-4 shooting from the free throw line.
In JV action, Wellsboro picked up their third win of the year by deafeating Galeton 43-23. The team will be back in action Tuesday, January 10, as they host league rival Cowanesque Valley.
