The Hornets Varsity boys basketball team used 24 2nd quarter points to defeat Northeast Bradford, 61-28. Jordan Jackson finished with 12 points, Michael Pietropola had nine points, and Chase Barnes, Dylan Prough and Matt Reese each finished with seven points. Kieron Smethers contributed six points, Joey Doganiero had five points, while Sam Mitchell and Ben Shaw had three points each and Andrew McCart added two points. With the win, Wellsboro is now 12-1 (6-0 NTL West).
In JV action, the Hornets won 56-26. Michael Pietropola led the team in scoring with 22 points. With the win, the Hornets are now 8-5 overall. The team will be back in action Thursday, January 26 as they host the Sayre Redskins.
