The Wellsboro boys track team took home fourth place at the NTL Large School meet Saturday at Athens. The Hornets finished behind Towanda (154 points), Athens (152 points), and Wyalusing (85 points) with 70 points on the day. Troy finisished fifth with 63 points and North Penn finished sixth with 29 points.
Sophomore Dan Brooks was Wellsboro's top finisher in the 200m dash with a time of 24.71. Junior Mitch Snyder finished in 10th place with a time of 25.29. In the 800m run, Wellsboro captured the first and third spots are Junior Jordan Jackson and Senior Garrett Webster grabbed those spots with times of 1:58.27 and 2:08.58, respectively.
In the 1600m run, Jackson took home the top spot with a time of 4:32.06, and Senior Bob Owlett took first place in the 3200m run with a time of 10:20.94.
In the 4x800m relay, the team of Owlett, Webster, Joey Doganeiro, and Bobby Hill finished second with a time of 8:29.96. In the high jump, Freshman Nick Marple finished in third place with a jump of 5' 4". Marple backed up his performance in the long jump by taking home fourth place in the long jump with a distance of 19' 7.5".
