The Wellsboro boys track team took home second place at the Molly Dry invite today at Mansfield University. Waverly edged out Wellsboro 111 to 106 to take home the top spot. Junior Jordan Jackson took the top spots in the 400m run with a time of 51.95 and the 800m run with a time of 2:00.71. Jackson would also win athlete of the meet for his performace.
In the 1600m run, Senior Bob Owlett finished second with a time of 4:34.68 and Bobby Hill finished fourth at 4:49.91. Owlett also finished second in the 3200m run with a time of 10:18.74.
In the relay events, the Hornets finished third in the 4x100m with a time of 48.11, second in the 4x400m with a time of 3:44.77, and fourth in the 4x800m wat 8:57.33.
Rounding out the day for Wellsboro, Sophomore Dylan Prough finished third in the high jump with a jump of 5' 6", Junior Thomas Straniere finished third in the pole vault with a height of 10' 6", Junior Matt Reese finished sixth in the long jump at 18', and Senior Chase Barnes finished second in the shot put with a throw of 40' 1.25".
The team will be back in action on Tuesday, April 17, as they host North Penn.
