Shamokin advances past Wellsboro

Shamokin defeated Wellsboro 3-1 in the first round of the District 4 Class AA playoffs Tuesday night at Williamson. The Hornets dropped the first game 25-19, but bounced back to win the second 25-23. Shamokin won the next two games to eliminated Wellsboro from post-season play.
Junior Hannah Zuchowski had 18 kills and 20 digs while Junior Mackenzie Marple added five kills and 10 points. Sophomore Kaelyn Keane added five kills as well.
With the loss, Wellsboro finishes their season at 10-8 overall.
