The Green Hornet girls soccer team held on for a 3-2 win over Towanda Thursday. After leading 2-0 at the half with goals from Taylor Acorn and Sarah Kramer, Wellsboro got an early second half goal from Freshman Kayla Staines to go up 3-0. Towanda would bounce back, however, as they scored two goals in the 72nd minute to pull to within one goal of Wellsboro. The Hornets would hold on for the win to improve their record to 5-5.
In JV action, the Hornets lost 1-0 to Towanda. The team will be back in action Friday night as they travel to Troy. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
