The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team lost their second straight game on Monday, September 19 in 5 sets to Galeton.
Galeton won the 1st set 25-18 and Wellsboro won the 2nd 25-22. Galeton won set 3 25-21 and Wellsboro won the 4th 25-14 to force a 5th set, but Galeton hung on to win the set 18-16 to beat Wellsboro in non-league play.
Senior Morgan Florio had 18 kills and 18 assists, junior Brianne Keane recorded 26 assists and scored 15 points, and senior Kirsten Florio had 17 kills and 4 blocks. Junior Jillian Graver scored 15 points (2 aces) to go along with 5 kills, senior Olivia Kurtz scored 12 points (1 ace) and made 16 digs, senior Kaeli Butters made 3 blocks, and junior Sydney Tremper made 36 digs.
The Wellsboro JV team improved to 7-0 with a 2-0 (25-19, 25-20).
The loss drops the Varsity team's record to 4-3. The team will be back in action this evening as they host Towanda.
