Four members of the Wellsboro Girls Tennis team were just selected to the Towanda Daily Review's All-Region team.
Sophomore Olivia Ryan was named All-Region newcomer of the year as she finished 9-2 in singles competition. Seniors Maddy Clemens and Shyann Foreman were both first team selections and senior Taylor Crawford was a second team selection.
Clemens, the NTL Player of the Year, was the team-leader with an 11-4 record, Ryan was second (9-2), Foreman was 7-8 on the year, and Crawford was 6-5.
"I'm very pleased these girls were recognized for their hard work throughout the regular season and districts," said head coach Jill Gastrock. "My seniors have worked for years and their time and effort and commitment to the team has paid off and I'm very proud of them. Olivia desires to keep the team going strong and she earned several key points in close matches in singles. Several girls on the team stepped up after losing two of our top five players early in the season. I couldn't be more proud of their effort and recognition."
WellsboroAthletics.com would like to congratulate Olivia, Maddy, Shyann, and Taylor on the selections, and thank them for all their hard work and dedication during the year.
