Senior Brett Kendrick advanced to regionals with a sixth place overall finish at day two of Districts at Towanda Country Club on Saturday, October 4.
Kendrick had a rough day as he shot an 88. The senior shot a 79 on day one and his two day total of 167 was one stroke ahead of Lourdes' Evan Salmone for the sixth and final qualifying spot to advance.
Kendrick shot 44 on both the front and back, taking two double bogeys on the front but also parred two tough holes in the par-3 fourth and par-4 eighth. Then on the back nine he had another rough start with a double bogey on 11 but was able to recover, shooting pars on 14, 15, 16 and 17. Despite taking an eight on 18 he was able to sneak through.
"I wasn't hitting well," explained Kendrick. "But I managed to scramble myself together and make it through."
The East Individual Regional will be held at the Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood on Tuesday, October 14.
WellsboroAthletics.com would like to congratulate Brett on his District finish and wish him the best of luck in regional play.
