The Wellsboro Varsity Boys Soccer team shut out Williamson 2-0 on Saturday, October 11.
Williamson had the ball roll into their own goal to put the Hornets up 1-0 at the 16:30 mark and Senior Gillan Alafoginis scored on a penalty kick in the 24th minute to put the Hornets up for good.
Senior Jake Mitchell recorded two saves on the day and Wellsboro out shot Williamson 11-2.
"Tonight was the culmination of a great bounce back week for the boys," said head coach John Shaffer. "We played well this week and today dominated all facets of the game. We limited a good Williamson team to 2 shots and created a lot of opportunities. We are finally starting to get healthy and hopefully we can continue to build towards districts."
With the win, the Hornets improve to 10-5 (10-5 NTL). The team will be back in action on Monday, October 13 as they travel to Northeast Bradford.
