The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team scored three first half goals en route to a 5-0 shut out over Towanda on Tuesday, September 16.
The Lady Hornets wasted little time as Junior Brynn Ripley scored in the second minute to go up 1-0. Sophomore Kelsey Logan scored in the 14th minute and Senior Lauren Bleggi scored in the 24th minute to put Wellsboro up 3-0 at the half. In the second half, Junior Jenny Young struck in the 56th minute to put the Hornets up 4-0 before Ripley added her second goal of the game in the 75th minute.
The Lady Hornets attempted 34 shots to Towanda's five, and had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. Freshman Kailee Clymer made three saves in goal for the game.
Bleggi, Junior Joey Taft, Junior Lindsey Graver, Ripley, and Young each added assists.
With the win, the Lady Hornets imrpve to 3-4 (3-3 NTL). The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 18 as they travel to Williamson.
