The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team fell 3-1 to Sayre Tuesday, September 9.
Sayre started the contest off with a goal by Chloe Tracy nine minutes into the game to go up 1-0. Sayre then followed with goals in the 15th minute and 41st minute to to take a 3-0 lead.
Wellsboro got on the scoreboard in the 58th minute as Senior Lauren Bleggi converted an assist from Junior Sarah Ingerick.
The Lady Hornets out shot Sayre 16-14 and attempted seven corner kicks to Sayre's two, but we unable to dig themselves out of the hole.
Freshman Kailee Clymer recorded 10 saves in goal on the night.
In the JV game, the Lady Hornets were held scoreless and lost 1-0.
With the loss, the Varsity team falls to 1-4 (1-3 NTL). The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 11 as they travel to Northeast Bradford.
