The Wellsboro golf team was the class of the field Monday afternoon at their home course.
The Hornets shot 352 on the day to take home first place over Towanda, who shot 368. Athens finished 3rd (379), Mansfield was 4th (379), Northern Tioga was 5th (414), Sayre was 6th (436), and Northeast Bradford was 7th (445).
Junior Brett Kendrick earned medalist honors on the day with a score of 80. Senior Blair Carson shot 88, Senior Zach Bower shot 90, Senior Dillan King shot 94, Senior Garrett Worden came home at 109, and Sophomore Tyler Kennedy was at 123.
With the first place finish, the Hornets are now 35-2-1 on the year and improve their NTL lead to 35-1 over Towanda (31-5). The team will be back in action on Thursday, October 3 at Tomasso's Country Club.
