Brigette Largey

Coaching Bio

Coach Largey is in her first year as the head boys track coach at Wellsboro. She has been a track and field volunteer the last two years and had previously been an assistant boys coach at North Penn High School. Coach Largey is a former graduate of the North Penn High School, where she competed in track and field, volleyball, and basketball for four years. She held the record for javelin, 4x800, and 4x400. More importantly, she coached the athlete who broke, and still holds, the javelin record.

After graduating from North Penn, Coach Largey attended Penn State University for psychology and communications. She then earned a Master's in Special Education from Mansfield University and a Master's in Counseling from Capella University. In 2020, Coach Largey was inducted into the Tioga County Hall of Fame for track and field.

Coach Largey is currently the elementary school counselor at Charlotte Lappla Elementary School and Don Gill Elementary School. In addition to track and field, she has coached soccer, basketball, volleyball, Odyssey of the Mind, and softball. She resides in Wellsboro with her husband, Ben Largey, and three children, Ellie, Jackson, and Brynn.
