Larue Wilson Memorial Award
The following is a story that has been passed on regarding Mr. Wilson:
"We were playing Blossburg at Bloss in the last league game of the year and we trailed them for the league championship by one game. We were two points down with the clock running out; we were pressing them out of bounds when Larue stole the ball, drove in to the basket and was racked... the clock ran out and the game was over except Larue had two free throws and we were trailing by two points. Bloss called time out and I asked if he was loose. I think he was the coolest person in the gym. He made both foul shots; neither hit the rim but swished through. We beat them in the overtime and later in the playoff championships."
Two words are used to characterize Mr. Wilson who passed away in September 1973, dedication and humility.
