The Wellsboro Varsity boys and girls cross country teams picked up non-league wins over Central Mountain and Jersey Shore tonight in Wellsboro.
The boys defeated Central Mountain 21-24 and Jersey Shore 23-32. The girls topped Central Mountain 18-41 and Jersey Shore 15-50.
Senior Jordan Jackson won the meet for the boys with a time of 17:30. Junior Joey Doganiero finished and Senior Bobby Hill finished third and fourth for the Hornets in times of 18:08 and 18:34, respectively.
Rounding out the rest of the boys finishers were Senior Derek Morgan in 8th (19:56), Freshman Dakota Cleveland in 13th (21:00), Sophomore Dalton Messmer in 22nd (22:19), Senior Drew Patrick in 23rd (22:45), and Freshman Alex Granger in 29th (25:39).
For the girls, Freshman Jordyn Coffee won the race in 22:10 and Freshman Jada Jackson finished right behind her in 2nd in a time of 22:48. Rounding out the rest of the girls finishers were Junior Charlotte Worthington in 4th (23:55), Freshman Hannah Hood in 5th (24:01), Senior Randi Grim in 6th (24:01), Freshman Camryn Keane in 9th (25:13), Sophomore Denae Ingerick in 11th (25:49), Freshman Samantha Bailey in 12th (26:01), Sophomore Caitlynn Butler in 14th (27:04), and Junior Baylee Mann in 16th (27:31).
The teams will be back in action on Tuesday, October 9 as they host Sayre and Wyalusing.
